However, you do not need to uninstallKilimanjaro before installing the Andes edition. To download andinstall IDRISI Andes, follow these instructions:.
Visit at:. In the left navigation menu, click Geographic InformationSystems, then Other, and then IDRISI 15 AndesEdition. Click Login, and in the window that opens, enter your IUusername and passphrase. If you get an errormessage, then you are not authorized to download thissoftware.
Contact a GIS Specialist atuitsgis@indiana.edu. Once you are logged in, click Download, and thenRun. The IDRISI 15 Andes Edition window willappear. Accept the default IUware Online folder to extract the setupfiles, and click Install. The Welcome screen for IDRISI Andes will appear.
ClickNext to continue. Click the option to agree to the license agreement, and then clickNext. Select Client Installation, and then clickNext.
Select Install full IDRISI Andes onClient, and then click Next. You may choose to install the tutorial data and Macon vector data.If so, select the checkboxes for the options you want and clickNext. Accept the default directory to install the software and tutorialdata.
Click Next. Leave the default name for the Program Manager group, and thenclick Next. Click Next again to begin the installation. To exit the installation program, click Finish.Setting the environment variableTo retrieve the necessary licensing for IDRISI, you must set anenvironment variable on your computer to instruct the applicationwhere to find the license server. Use the instructions below toproperly set the environment variable:. Open the Control Panel. Double-click the System icon.

Select theAdvanced tab, and then click the EnvironmentVariables button. Under 'System variables', click New. Next to 'Variable Name', typeLSFORCEHOST. Next to 'Variable Value', typeBL-CPEC-IDRISI. Click OK three times to exit the window.IDRISI Andes is now ready to use. Open IDRISI Andes from theStart menu. If you get a license error message, tryrestarting your computer to make sure the environmental variable isset.If you see a message that says 'Data path not found', just clickOK and IDRISI will open.

You will need to reset the datapath, as follows:. From the File menu, select IDRISI Explorer. Click Browse and select a working project folderfor your data, for example, C:IDRISIAndesProject. Click OK to save the project path.
